Withered

A granite with a characteristically “naturally weathered” surface — a material whose unique appearance is the result of natural geological processes rather than artificial treatment. Unlike most granites, Withered does not aspire to uniformity or brilliance: its beauty lies in heterogeneity, in the way thin mineral layers form a muted, multi-layered colour with a hidden depth.

The dominant tone is a cool grey-beige with barely perceptible ochre and warm flecks that reveal themselves only under close inspection. The textural variations — almost imperceptible from a distance yet tangible at close range — lend the surface a tactile vitality that no synthetic stone can replicate. In its raw or thermally treated (flamed) state, this effect is only amplified: the stone appears as though it has weathered centuries in the open air.

Density 2,630 kg/m³, water absorption 0.24 % and compressive strength 160 MPa ensure reliability in exterior conditions; flexural strength of 18 MPa. An abrasion rate of 0.65 g/cm² suggests primary use in vertical constructions and landscape installations. Particularly expressive in contemporary architectural schemes where the natural authenticity of the stone is the central design statement.
